Brain Storming Seminar - Roadmap For A Better Tomorrow

Consortium of Social Reform Organisation (CoSRO) is a think tank on Social Reform. CoSRO intends to organize a meet of intellectual professionals to decide ways to improve the social life in India.

SCENARIO TODAY AROUND US

Metro Population suffers from increasing crime like burglaries, violence, poor police protection, erratic power supply improper drinking water, bad roads, traffic rage and congestion, poor quality of eatables, unhygienic conditions, slums and unauthorized colonies, a complete mess of wires and cables in every nick and corner of the streets, adulterated medicines, high school fees, cost of transportation to work places and so on.

The Progress in upgrading of Infrastructure is also slow as well as poor. For e.g., We have poor roads, inadequate sewerage, lack of superhighways, poor dry port facilities, poor air / rail connectivity between small towns, shortage of high speed trains, lack of fast moving goods traffic through rail and roadways.

In Addition to all the above anomalies, we have high rate of taxes, high input taxes on manufacturing units, high VAT/Excise duties between states on movement of goods and high income tax rates. This is leading to influx of Chinese goods into India and closing of industries & manufacturing base in India.

Research and development continues to be backward in spite of having a huge trained scientific manpower. Poor technology and R&D base. Despite our huge population, our performance in sports events is dismal.

It is clear that the present political system has failed for the common poor man. People will continue to suffer unless we change ourselves.

Also issues on poor infrastructure, ever widening gap between poor and the rich, slow and ineffective judiciary, poor R&D, failure to control population growth continues without solution.

One of the reasons for all the above problems lies with our leaders who have failed to deliver what they had promised to do. In the land of Chanakya we have failed miserably in projecting a better picture of harmless and peace – loving India to the outside world. Can we not improve? The answer is positive. Only – and - only if our literate class comes on a common platform and works unitedly for a common course. So let us join and share our views and work at ways to find out solutions. Only literate, technocrats, teachers & research scholars have the answer.
